Carlos Godoy Bibiloni

Founder & Head Guide – Flyfishing Chetumal

For more than 35 years, Carlos Godoy Bibiloni has dedicated his life to the art of fly fishing. What began as a passion inherited from his father evolved into a lifelong commitment to exploring, understanding, and sharing some of the finest fisheries in Mexico.

Carlos started his fly fishing journey pursuing rainbow and brown trout in the mountain streams and lakes surrounding Mexico City and Puebla. In 1997, he expanded his passion to the saltwater environment, where he discovered the challenge and excitement of tropical flats fishing. Since then, he has fished throughout Mexico and in several international destinations, developing extensive experience targeting a wide variety of species, with a special passion for tarpon.

Throughout his career, Carlos has become a respected figure within the Mexican fly fishing community. He has written articles for specialized fishing magazines, delivered seminars and educational presentations to fly fishing clubs, and trained students in sport fishing programs across Mexico. His commitment to sharing knowledge has helped introduce countless anglers to the world of fly fishing.

Carlos is also a founding member of Club de Pesca con Mosca Península A.C., the first Mexican fly fishing club dedicated exclusively to saltwater fly fishing. The organization continues to be an important source of education and promotion for the sport in Mexico.

In 2020, Carlos founded Flyfishing Chetumal with a clear mission: to introduce anglers from around the world to the extraordinary fishery of Chetumal Bay. His deep understanding of the bay's tides, seasons, flats, mangrove ecosystems, and fish behavior allows him to consistently provide safe, enjoyable, and highly productive fishing experiences.
